Cosmetic Dentistry

Thanks to today’s state-of-the-art technology and dentist skills, the appearance of the teeth can be drastically changed, and thus the overall appearance. This inevitably increases the self-confidence of patients; they become freer in their behaviour and laugh freely without hiding their teeth. All this can be achieved quickly and painlessly.

WHAT IS COSMETIC DENTISTRY?

Have you ever thought about what cosmetic dentistry actually is, what it provides you with and all the ways you can beautify your smile and your teeth? The adjective “aesthetic” can associate us with popular aesthetic surgeries, voluntary “going under the knife”, painful surgeries that require general anaesthesia and long-term recovery.

On the other hand, dentistry is associated with the hated (or at least unwanted) classic procedures, such as dental treatment. We don’t think about what the most important part of our face is, what everyone notices first and immediately in personal contact. These are undoubtedly our teeth and smile.

Cosmetic dentistry is a branch of dentistry that unites almost all its areas, and has been brought to perfection, both aesthetically and functionally. It includes oral rehabilitation that maximally meets the aesthetic requirements of patients. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, cosmetic dentistry takes care not only of the health of your teeth, but also of the beauty of your smile.

EVERY PROBLEM IMPLIES A SOLUTION

There is a solution for every problem, such as straightening teeth, i.e. orthodontics, whitening them, beautifying the shape and size of teeth with ceramic veneers, replacing lost teeth by installing dental implants and placing aesthetic metal-free ceramic crowns (crowns that do not have a metal skeleton and thus excellently imitate the natural transparency of tooth enamel).

    Teeth Whitening

On the one hand, the loss of the whiteness of the teeth is a natural process. Tooth enamel, or the outer protective layer of the tooth, becomes thinner over time and the colour of the dentin (the inside of the tooth) comes to the fore. On the other hand, coffee, red wine, tobacco, and similar coloured products also take away the whiteness of teeth over the years. Teeth whitening can help restore beauty.

Before you start whitening, you should first do a professional cleaning of the teeth, i.e. remove tartar deposits. Whitening is done in the dentist’s office by applying a peroxide-based gel to the teeth, which works for 20-60 minutes, depending on the desired shade. If necessary, the procedure can be repeated several times. After the treatment, the teeth are coated with a fluoride-based paste for protection.

Teeth whitening is a non-invasive and safe procedure. During the procedure, the whitening gel enters the tooth enamel and the inside of the tooth. The structure of the tooth remains unchanged, only its colour changes.

    Veneers

Ceramic veneers or laminates are an aesthetic replacement in the area of the front teeth, and are used to correct their colour, shape and position. Their advantage is minimal grinding of the dental tissue (0.6 – 0.8 mm). Due to their structure, they are slightly less resistant compared to crowns, but still long-lasting if the patient follows the instructions. They have an extremely good aesthetic effect because they are made entirely of ceramics and in the appropriate colour.

    Aesthetic Fillings

Aesthetic fillings are invisible and allow for a natural smile. An aesthetic filling fills the part of the tooth damaged by caries, which returns the damaged tooth to its original state. The parts of the tooth affected by caries are removed, the tooth cavity is cleaned, and a filling is placed. Aesthetically, the fillings are reliable and safe because they are performed with the most sophisticated composite masses. The main advantage of composite fillings over amalgam fillings is in aesthetics. Amalgam fillings are grey in colour, while composite fillings are the colour of teeth.

    Zirconia-ceramic Crowns

Zirconia-ceramic crowns are made for patients who strive for top quality and aesthetics. They are made using the technology of computer scanning and making a zirconia base, which gives high accuracy and precision of the crown edge. Complete mechanical resistance is achieved at a thickness of only 0.4 mm, which requires less tooth grinding. The white colour of the base ensures better imitation of natural teeth and correction of aesthetic defects. Although they are still mostly used in the anterior region today, ceramic zirconium oxide bridges are also adequate for replacing teeth in the posterior region.
