Teeth Whitening

A white smile in one treatment

WHY DO TEETH GET DARKER?

The shade of the teeth darkens for years, and this depends on the food you eat, lifestyle habits, but also the genes you carry and the natural wear of tooth enamel. Stained teeth and pigmented drinks, such as green tea and black coffee, and foods such as turmeric, but most of all bad habits, such as smoking.

Teeth whitening is a dental procedure by which the existing shade of teeth is changed into a few shades of lighter. Today, there are several methods for effective and successful teeth whitening, and their choice depends on the cause and degree of darkening, which we will evaluate during the examination, and then recommend the method that best suits your teeth.

PROCEDURE AND RESULTS

The treatment lasts individually, depending on the result to be achieved and the properties of each patient’s teeth. A maximum of four phases of 15 minutes each can be carried out in one visit. Whitening is performed under controlled conditions under the supervision of a dentist.

Each individual phase (out of a total of four phases) lasts 15 minutes, and after each phase, the patient checks the shade of the tooth and decides whether he wants to continue with the next phase and thus progresses to the desired colour.

WHO ARE THE CANDIDATES FOR TEETH WHITENING?

Before the whitening treatment, an examination should be done so that the dentist examines the teeth and supporting tissues.

Teeth whitening is intended for all people whose natural teeth have lost their whiteness over time. If the patient has crowns or veneers on the teeth, their colour will not change with whitening.

The most common question in teeth whitening is the question of whether the treatment is painful. It is not. Before the treatment, it should be noted to the dentist if you have extremely sensitive teeth so that he can adjust the treatment and assess whether you are a suitable person for whitening.

Also, before the treatment, tartar should be cleaned from the surface of the teeth so that the teeth are ready for whitening.
